June Favorites

Where did June go? Someone? Anyone? How is it already July...I feel like time is flying by this Summer. Before June is gone and forgot about, it's time to recap the month and share some favorites.

Favorite "Let's Be Real" Post: Loop Giveaways and the rest of us from Bourbon, Lipstick & Stilettos Lindsay has a way of putting it all out there and giving her opinion without turning me off from reading more. There's a way to grow being a blogger, and even in some other roles...the point is some of us do it differently than others.

Favorite Summer Activity Post: Five Outdoor Workout Ideas for Summer from The Lilac Linnet
Once this season hits, I want to constantly be outside. Being inside in front of a computer or TV is just not for me, especially since Winter is long in these parts. I love the ideas Llinos has for being productive while outside.

Favorite Purchase: It wasn't even directly for me, but I purchased Chuck's Father's Day gift a week early this year since the grill he had his eye on went on sale. We went to buy it one Sunday morning and it was sold out at one location so we hopped online and I got it from another location. We head to pick it up and find out in store they are all we got upgraded and ended up saving about $200 on a grill. SCORE! Chuck was one happy dude and I plan on hopefully learning how to use this thing by the end of Summer.

Favorite Blogging Post: 5 Things to do for Your Blog During the Summer Traffic Slumps from Meet At The Barre
Amanda has some great tips for those of us that are wondering what we can do to improve our blogs when reading isn't at an all time high. I know a few of her tips were already on my list and others are really great ideas that can help all of our blogs.

Favorite Moment: I think overall from June, I was excited that my stepson, Ethan's soccer season started. I have no problem being at the soccer field a few nights a week all summer long. Watching him play makes me so happy. He has so much fun and loves the sport, which makes it even better. One of his games led me to write this post about how you should use your voice wisely.

Favorite Home Post: Home Office Reveal from Sophistifunk
I know I shared some office reveals in the past, but they're just so fun. An office is a place to breed inspiration, feel comfortable and chic, and brew love. I'm obsessed with this reveal just as much as any much goodness.

Favorite Recipe: Your New Favorite Summer Side Dish: Feta & Balsamic Watermelon Salad from Alanna & Company
I love cheese, just as much as I love a piece of crisp and juicy watermelon. Combining the two for a salad? YES please! Alanna hit this recipe out of the park.

Favorite Find: Is it silly that my favorite find was FREE?! One afternoon while browsing Pinterest I came across a coffee printable that I decided to frame and put by the Keurig. It went perfectly with my coffee bean candle and created the cutest little corner that makes me smile just by looking at it. Sometimes it's the simplest things that make me the happiest.

Favorite Seasonal Post: Summer Beach Reads from Carrie Bradshaw Lied
Kathleen keeps it real, so I knew I could count on a good round up in her summer beach reads recommendations. She mentioned a few I have read so I'm anxious to knock the rest off my list. Check it out if you're looking for something new to pick up.

Favorite Career Related Posts:  I couldn't choose just one since they were both great reads, especially for women. Jordyn from The Fairy Princess Diaries talked about 5 Reasons You Should Negotiate Your Salary and while it can be intimidating, there is definitely ways to do it. To tie in with this helpful post, Nicole from Audaciously So asked for a raise at work and her tips as to how she went about it are sure to help anyone in the same position. Such great advice, even if you've been in the professional world for a while.

Favorite Read: I've only started both of them, but this month I picked up Lauren Conrad's Celebrate  & A Hot Glue Gun Mess: Funny Stories, Pretty DIY Projects  by Mr. Kate and the party planner, detail obsessed, event loving, sarcastic soul inside of me is really enjoying these books even if I haven't read them in their entirety quite yet.
