Allow Me To Re-Introduce Myself

As a blogger, you never really know who exactly is out there reading your blog each day. You may come across a post of mine that you found from another blog, or you've been a reader for quite some time. Today I wanted to take some time to let you get to know me a little better because without me, there would be no blog.

This June will be two years of blogging for me and I can't believe how much I've learned so far. I would have never imagined how blogging could push me to work harder, experiment more, and dream bigger. As you may have guessed, I'm a big dreamer...hence the blog name. Dream Big & Buy the Shoes came about from my personal motto...Dream Big. I truly believe that you are never too young or too old to follow your dreams. The second half of my name comes from two beliefs...always buy the shoes, because you can never have too many. And, life is short- you can't wait on anything or anyone. Live in the moment. Buy those shoes.

I'm married to my hilarious husband and #1 fan, Chuck. We've been together 8 years and recently got married in September at what we refer to as The Best Day Ever. Through Chuck, I've been incredibly blessed and have a sweet stepson Ethan who will hit teenage years this winter...crazy! Ethan loves to bake with me, and has even shared his delicious Chocolate Chip recipe on the blog.

By day, I'm a Social Media Director, Special Events Coordinator & Client Relations Manager. To sum it up, my job is never the same from day to day and I love it that way. I have the pleasure of making people feel great, promoting our beautiful business, and working to make every experience within our salon and spa the perfect one. At night, I'm in the kitchen experimenting, playing with a hot glue gun, or simply living life the best I can and sharing my experiences with all of you.

The thing I have come to love about blogging the most is the beautiful souls and people. I have collaborated with several bloggers, met one in real life so far, and bounced ideas and sought help from so many ladies and I've never seen a community so wonderful. Today, a group of us have come together and answered some questions so you can get to know us better. You can read what everyone has to say and then visit their blogs too!

Where was the last place you traveled to?
Wow, it's been a while...so that's why we're headed to North Carolina next week. The last place we went was Las Vegas...my favorite city. I'm not a gambler, but I love the excitement...the weather, the sights, the shows, the pools. I love it all & can't wait for our next trip there!

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what are three materialistic things you'd want with you? Mascara, a camera, bacon...that answer would never change.

When was the last time you tried something new, and what was it?
I tried sweet potatoes, on their own...not in a Thanksgiving casserole and I loved them. I also have been learning a few new photo editing programs at work the past few weeks...that's always fun.

If you knew you could not fail, what is the one thing you would do tomorrow?
I’ve always had the dream to be a wedding planner, but I would love to work with all types of events. I have a love of details and creating beautiful memories, so I would give it all to be an Event Planner and have the opportunity to make special moments for other people.

What is your earliest memory?
The first thing I remember was my brother being born. I remember visiting my Mom in the hospital and jumping up on the bed to meet my new sibling. It's so vivid in my mind...I was 2 days shy of turning four years old.

If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Bacon...only if it was crisped to perfection though. Chicken, I could eat that every day...and usually do in some form as lunch.

Do you like your first name and why? If not, what would you change it to?
I love my first name. It's unique and is a part of my family, but I'm the only one to spell it this way. I've never met another Emelia (spelled the same way). It's so great to have a different name.

If you could give yourself one gift, what would it be?
I would give myself the gift of patience. I could always use more of it. I'm a fast moving, want it now type of person and often need to be reminded to go with the flow.

Would you rather be the person asking the questions in a conversation or the person answering them?
I talk too much, so I probably would be the person answering them.

If you had to live in a place where only one season existed year-round, what would that season be?
Fall, I'm still trying to find a state that has it year round, because I'm totally moving there.

If money was no object, what would you do all day?

I would do every DIY project I could dream up and plan events. I love creating, crafting and planning...details are huge, but they aren't always cheap.

And now for my blogger friends....

Cassie - Sage the Blog Would you rather be the person asking the questions in a conversation or the person answering them? I’m a complete introvert and have been told that I don’t talk about myself very often, so I guess that implies I would rather be the person asking the questions in a conversation.

Anne - Love The Here and Now  If you could give yourself one gift, what would it be?  Without fail, it would be self-confidence.  I constantly second guess decisions and choices and don’t attempt new things because of a fear of failing or judgement.  Truth be told, I could fail and be judged and I would be ok.  Self-confidence would give me the edge I need not to care about those things and would enable to me to live free of doubt, fear, and feelings of inadequacy.

Amanda -Knock on Wood If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? I would totally be cool with eating pizza for the rest of my life. You can switch up the toppings and essentially have something different each day. Plus you still get all of the food groups!

Kelly - Southern Komfort If you could give yourself one gift, what would it be? I would have to say the gift to be able to travel (no worries about money, who would take of the pups, boring adult things). I would love to travel all around the nation and the world, just meeting people and doing life with them.

Meagan - All The Joys If you were stranded on a deserted island, what are three materialistic things you’d want with you?  A camera with unlimited memory, chapstick and a Kindle preloaded with hundreds of books.

Lindsay - Bourbon, Lipstick and Stilettos If you knew you could not fail, what is the one thing you would do tomorrow? I would do web development/design. It is a dream of mine, but I'm struggling to find time to study and perfect it!

Rebecca - The Adventures of Bug and Boo Where was the last place you traveled to? San Francisco! In February I took a long weekend to visit my BFF from middle school, and meet her new baby. It was my first time on the west coast and I fell in love! San Francisco is so different from NYC and London (both cities I lived in for a while) but it’s an awesome city in its own right. And the FOOD….I will definitely be back!

Emily - Ember Grey If you were stranded on a deserted island, what are three materialistic things you'd want with you? A notebook, pen, and Sun-In. (Obviously.)

Christine - Christine Everyday If you knew you could not fail, what is the one thing you would do tomorrow? I would go skydiving! That’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and if I knew for sure that I wouldn’t crash-land, I’d totally sign up.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know me and these other amazing ladies more today. Leave a comment and answer one of the questions from above--I would love to get to know YOU better.

Thank you for reading and supporting my dreams & Dream Big and Buy the Shoes...have a great day!
