When I was a little girl some of my most favorite memories visiting my grandparents was the smell of homemade sauce in the kitchen as I played around the house. Every holiday, every weekend, every visit...there was homemade pasta and sauce on the dinner table.
This day and age, I find myself having to write down meal plans for the week and schedule time to cook since our lives are so busy. When I don't have time to devote an afternoon to recipes in the kitchen, I turn to RAGÚ and my slow cooker. One of my favorite dishes is my slow cooker sausage and sauce. You can serve it over any type of pasta which means it's bound to please anyone in your home.
You will need:
Italian Sausage - I enjoy both hot and sweet
Pasta- I love wheat rotini
Put your sausage in the bottom of the slow cooker
Pour RAGÚ Sauce over top of the sausage
Set slow cooker to cook on low for 6 hours
We usually put this in while we are at work for the day. When I get home I then start the pasta. Once the pasta is cooked we enjoy it with the sausage and sauce. The RAGÚ Sauce cooks the sausage so well that it almost melts in your mouth. You don't need any extra seasoning because the sauce is so flavorful.
I love using RAGÚ sauce at home because there are no artificial flavors and no high fructose corn syrup, the ingredients are farm grown, and they have been around since 1937. Did I mention how affordable RAGÚ is too? I purchased this jar at my local dollar store while picking up some household cleaning items? Win-Win!
