6 Reasons You Should Read "Girl On The Train" Right This Minute

Alert: Bookworm taking over the blog today!

Hi everyone, my name's Amanda from Anchored to Sunshine and I’m so excited to be taking over Emelia’s blog today.

For those of you who've been hiding out from Jonas these last few days then you probably know how nice it is to curl up with an amazing book for some quiet reading time (literally the only way I survived 4 days of being locked indoors because of the blizzard). But what book are you curling up with?

If you haven’t read The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins then you're missing out!

Here are 6 reasons you should pick the book up right this minute and start reading:

1. You'll completely relate to Rachel's desire to people watch.
People watching, we all do it. We just don’t take the starring further than that... unlike Rachel. Boundaries, Rachel!

2. You'll hate all the characters, but in an amazing way!
You won’t like anyone in the book, so who do you root for? It will pull at all of your emotions!

3. You'll want to binge read it like you binge watch Netflix.
The picture above serves more as a suggestion than a pretty image. You must keep snacks (preferably ice cream) close by to eat as you binge read this book! You won’t be able to put the book down once you start, so you better have snacks (and maybe a glass of wine) within reaching distance.

4. You'll second guess the main character non-stop.
What do you do if you have an unreliable narrator? This book breaks all the rules in quite a refreshing way.

5. You'll flashback to all the times you've had something to drink.
Did you drink more than you should have and forget something that could be life altering? Probably not… but this book will generate those fears in your nightmares (eek)!

6. You'll want to compare it to Gone Girl.
While I try not to compare books to Gone Girl (sometimes it's seriously impossible), I will say that if you loved that type of book then you'll love The Girl on the Train as well!

Have I convinced you to pick up the book yet? Or have you already stopped reading this because you're running to Barnes & Noble (or downloading it on Audible like I did) already?

Thanks so much for letting me take over the blog today! It was so fun getting to share my thoughts and I hope to chat with you all soon :)

p.s.  If you’ve already read The Girl on the Train, check out my blog for dozens more recommendations . Ever read Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter ? Now that book is a serious thriller!
