D. I. Y. Chalkboard Menu

I have been looking for a menu or meal planner/board for quite some time. I wasn't able to find something that I liked well enough to spend the money on, so I improvised and made my own. The process was painless, and the result is just what I was looking for.

I used a frame I had at my house, and bought some chalkboard spray paint at Wal-Mart for $4. You can use any size frame you want, I tried this one since it was the biggest I had here at home.

Step 1: Lay down newspaper so that you don't stain any of your belongings. Take out the glass from the frame, this is the part that you will be spraying. Lay flat and spray evenly on one side.

Step 2: Allow the side you painted to dry overnight, or 24 hours. Then, flip the glass over and spray paint the other side.

Step 3: Put your new chalkboard in the frame and secure as normal.

Step 4: Get some chalk and create your menu.

I love the way it turned out and was so excited to put it to use in the kitchen. Having a menu planned for the week helps keep all of us on track and on the same page. I am having a great time creating new things, and love that it doesn't take a ton of money to make useful projects.

What's the latest thing you have made? Do you have a menu for your kitchen?
