Caramel Apple Crisp bites were a hit with those at the table that didn't overindulge on turkey and potatoes...me, me me!!
I personally think these make an awesome fall dessert treat and hightly suggest you warm them up in the microwave and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for ultimate perfection status.
Let's get started.
You will need:
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs. I used store bought in a box
- 12 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 4 cups peeled, and chopped apples (I used Granny Smith)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 1/4 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- caramel topping (store bought in a jar)
- bowl
- baking dish
- non-stick spray
- muffin cup pans
Steps to deliciousness:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease pan with non-stick spray
- Melt butter
- In a bowl combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter and mix
- Distribute this mixture to the 24 muffin cups evenly and press along the bottom and sides of the individual portions to make small "cups"
- Bake for 5 minutes and then let it cool completely
- Chop the apples into small pieces- I used a food processor to make it nice and easy
- Mix the apples, sugar, brown sugar, nutmeg, flour and cinnamon in a bowl
- Bake in the baking dish on 375 degrees for 15 minutes until apples are softened
- Scoop a teaspoon of the apple mixture in to each individual section of the baked graham cracker crust cups in the pans
- Bake for 5-7 minutes at 350 degrees
- Let them cool completely and then pop out of the pan with a knife
- Drizzle caramel and ENJOY!
